ANOTHER ANIMAL SHELTER FROM KHARKIV HAS CONTACTED US WITH A REQUEST FOR URGENT HELP.

The shelter for homeless dogs and cats, in Kharkiv, is run by the city’s Animal Treatment Center and cares for about 500 dogs and cats.

The situation in Kharkiv is dramatic. Almost since the beginning of the war, the city has been intensively shelled. There is a lack of food, medicine and bandages for humans and animals. There is no electricity, no gas, no heating and no petrol. The animals are frightened by the constant explosions.

The shelter’s caretakers strive at all costs to keep the dogs safe and fed. However, this is practically impossible. The city is bombed almost daily. The inhabitants of Kharkiv have either left the city or are fighting for survival by hiding in shelters and basements.

No one has the means to help the animals and their caretakers. That is why the shelter asked us for help, because they knew that we have helped other shelters in Ukraine since the outbreak of the war.

WE ARE ALREADY PREPARING THE SIXTH TRANSPORT OF FOOD FOR KHARKOV, WHICH IS SCHEDULED TO LEAVE ON 12 APRIL. A TRUCK AND AN ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLE WITH TRAILER WILL BE ON SITE. WE NEED FOOD AND BANDAGES. PLEASE HELP TO FILL THE CARS.

We ask for all possible support for the animals. They need practically everything. Food (dry and wet food for dogs and cats), medicines for injured and sick animals and bandages. We also ask for food packages for Caretakers, who were left behind with the animals. They have only us.

The most urgent items needed at the moment are:
1. transport boxes for dogs and cats
2. collars, leashes, muzzles
3. special food for cats with kidney and urinary stones.
4. deworming for dogs and cats and anti-flea medication.
5. incontinence pads
